We are pouring gasoline on the fire. We are completing burning out our little, fragile adrenal glands that are responsible for much of our peace and calm and energy and hormone production and natural pain relief… AS GO OUR ADRENALS & NERVOUS SYSTEM, so go our hormones & other systems!
CHALLENGE: Go without coffee a few days. #1: can you do it? #2: Does this post make you angry instead of curious? Are you willing to ask God for the humility to be challenged? Is there any chance coffee could be an idol/addiction? Is this a primary source of comfort or perhaps a crutch to survive each day? Do you catch yourself saying “I NEED MY COFFEE” ?Sometimes we let stuff go (a fast) just to be certain our comfort is solely coming from the ONE TRUE SOURCE of comfort…Jesus!! AND to see what HE has to show us about our habits. #3 If you feel terrible without coffee…that’s the reality of the state your body is actually in. Your body needs nourishment, not stimulants. Your adrenals are likely FRIED (likely your thyroid, too…I know…I’m sorry), and they are responsible for producing over 50 hormones in the body!! No wonder everyone’s hormones are out of whack?! For years I have worked with people whose lives are out of control and health is failing, so much of which is a direct result of lifestyle habits such as this. Don’t worry, I’m not denying we live in a fallen world, and some things ARE out of our control. The coffee and stimulant issue is one of many layers….but our habits add up to make us either MORE HEALTHY or to DESTROY OUR BODY. This means there is HOPE…we can change through the conviction and transforming power of Christ and it WILL HAVE a direct effect on our health. Yahoooo!!!! You don’t need a Doctor to tell you that! If your nervous system controls all the other systems in the body, then doesn’t it make sense to nourish it instead of over-stimulating it and wearing it out daily? And then if IT tells the adrenals what to do, but our adrenals are like the adrenals of an 80 year old person when we are in our 20’s (yes, that’s what’s happening!!)…then how can we expect to have healthy menstrual cycles, happy and stable moods, a healthy libido (when we are married), breasts that maintain their volume, energy, good quality sleep, peace and calm, maintain a healthy weight, hair and nails that grow strong and long, fertility, mental clarity, good muscle tone, endurance, motivation, healthy thoughts…. NEED I SAY MORE? DO YOU SEE HOW THEY ARE ALL RELATED?? I’ll refrain from getting into Bio-Identical Hormones and Birth control pills. I get to see people healed ALL THE TIME!! Those who humble themselves to saying YES to JESUS, to being willing to change WHATEVER GOD WANTS to change AND THOSE who realize that WE DO have control over many of the factors causing us to be sick (diet, exercise, forgiveness, etc) are the ones that get the good results. It’s really just an act of submission to the Truth, obedience to do the work and being transformed by the renewing of our minds to think and live in a new way. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. Therefore, in Christ, anyone can change. Just as God made Himself as the Trinity, 3-in-1, He made us in His image…A Spirit, soul and body…they are all part of the whole and cannot be separated. We can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength – Philippians 4:13 Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial. COMPROMISE: ANYTHING other than a complete commitment to God.
Pharoah (a type of Satan) offered the FIRST compromise to Moses in Exodus 8:25 “Go ahead & serve God… but stay in the land”. In today’s language He was saying “Just get to church or or do your devotions, but you don’t really need to change your lifestyle or make a real separation from the world.” or “Everyone knows you love Jesus and you work really hard serving the Lord, so it’s ok to keep drinking alcohol as long as you’re not getting wasted.” or “You go to church and you've been faithful in Bible study, and you've already had sex before (or were married once), so it’s ok to sleep with your boyfriend/girlfriend.” or how about this one…”You’re serving the Lord and going to heaven, so who cares! Eat/do whatever you want.” 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV) says “Come out from among them and be separate…Do not touch what is unclean and I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, He is a NEW CREATION. THE OLD HAS PASSED away; behold the new has come.” Galatians 2:20 (ESV) says “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” 1 Corinthians 6:12 (NIV) “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. Titus 1:7-9 (ESV) says "For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it." Ephesians 5:18 (NLT) "Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit" John 15:13 (NKJV) Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. As Christians, we take a position of FAITH, knowing our “old nature” (the things we used to love and do) was crucified with Christ. We CHOOSE to walk in the Light, in the SPIRIT, in OBEDIENCE to what the Scriptures are really saying. We understand the greatness of God, His sacrifice to us, and and we live to enter the land of Promise! We also love by being willing to lay down those things that stumble others to sin. COMPROMISE compromises God’s best in our lives! He gave it all for us WITHOUT COMPROMISE. A brutal death. Severe persecution & mockery. A world that HATED Him…He gave His life for. Why would we compromise? Don’t take the bait of compromise! When we compromise we not only harm ourselves, but we harm or confuse those who look for God IN US. It’s not about us, It’s ALWAYS ABOUT HIM. The Lord allows us to come to the end of ourselves, the end of our resources and our own “good ideas”…even to the brink of hopelessness before He “does His God thang”. When God works in our life, He does NOT want us bragging about how skilled we are or some great work that WE ACCOMPLISHED on our own. The purpose of our trials is to bring glory to God and increase our faith.
I am reading through the Bible, cover to cover, this year. I’ve been intimidated by this and feared not being disciplined enough to succeed. I am notorious for reading books halfway and putting them down (don’t judge!). So I finally thought, I have to start somewhere. GOD IS MY STRENGTH. I’m pretty sure HE CAN DO THIS through me. Time to practice what I preach and just submit to prayer for God’s discipline and desire and perseverance to accomplish this awesome feat! Jana can’t, but GOD CAN. Genesis 17:5 & 17:15 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations….Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name…” God inserts the letter “h” into Abraham & Sarah’s names. “H” is made with the sound of breath. God put the sound of breath into Abraham AND Sarah’s names…He INSERTED HIMSELF, because the hebrew word for breath = ruach = Spirit. Therefore, God inserted His Spirit, His life into them, bringing them into a whole new dimension of life – the life after the Spirit. A new identity. Just like the coming Messiah would come to give us…a new identity in Christ. ABRAM = high father; ABRAHAM = father of many nations. SARAI = contentious; SARAH = princess. …pretty cool huh?! Genesis 17: 19-21 Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. At this point, their names had been changed (new identity). The former Sarai and Abram had already taken God’s promise of a son into their own hands and used Hagar, Sarai’s maidservant, to give Abram a son (Ishmael). They gave God a deadline and then tried to “help God.” NEVER A GOOD IDEA. Hagar got pregnant and gave birth to Ishmael. So now Abraham was old, his body was dead (impotent) and Sarah was way past the age of fertility (menopause). It was the perfect set-up for God to work a miracle and give them the son God promised They were in a place where they could no longer do anything themselves. They came to the end of themselves and their resources. There was jealousy and hardship over what they had taken into their own hands. They brought much hardship on themselves. But now God had room to move. And ONLY GOD COULD RECEIVE THE PRAISE FOR THE MIRACLE OF ISAAC! He proved Himself faithful, powerful, redeeming, and loving. Genesis 21: 1-3 And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him—whom Sarah bore to him—Isaac. We must stop taking life into our own hands. The end of ourselves is the beginning of miracles. He did it for Abraham & Sarah, His Word is documentation of endless promises and miracles, and HE IS ALIVE and still working miracles today. Don’t give God a deadline. Just believe. ARE YOU ANNOYED BY THE GLUTEN-FREE TREND?? #DontJudge Well, if I may…I want to explain why this is a lot more legit than you think.
MOST people eat more GMO foods than whole, organic foods. In fact, most people eat no living foods most days. FEW people are actually feeding their body its need for 5+ servings of vegetables & fruits/day (more veggies than fruits). God created our body to have certain needs. We must eat living foods to be truly ALIVE and thriving. So we can either eat them or supplement them. But we need them to be well.
We also run to medical doctors and get antibiotics and other toxic drugs for sickness WAY MORE than we need to. There are plenty of natural anitbiotics, anti-virals, natural “medicine” available to us (food/herbs are medicine). And YES they work if you are using the RIGHT products, QUALITY products, know HOW to use them and take the proper dosage. We have a culture living blind to Candida overgrowth in their gut, which leads to leaky gut, which = FOOD ALLERGIES. We become allergic to that which we eat the most of…WHEAT (and gluten grains), sugar, dairy, corn, soy, etc (most of which are GMO foods…aka: not even real food anymore…essentially poison to our bodies). There are consequences to these things…hence the generations of people that now have some or many food allergies, namely gluten-sensitivities. Our genetics also play a role in what foods are and are not beneficial to us. Wheat/gluten happens to be a common genetic allergy or sensitivity in modern generations. Why is it so hard to go gluten free?? Because THIS IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE EAT DAILY. This is the same reason so many people are allergic. AND so many people live in denial because they don’t understand what this is. Only ~50% of gluten allergies have digestion symptoms. This is known as non-celiac's gluten sensitivity. These symptoms are primarily mental/emotional/hormonal. This is one way the gut-brain connection manifests itself. FOR ME- nothing happens to my “gut” when I eat gluten. It’s all hormonal, emotional, metabolic. My thyroid crashes after even a trace of gluten. My daily natural thyroid supplement that keeps me well usually has to triple in dose for about a week (sometimes longer) to pull me out of the crash. I also have to add other things for my gut/liver and immune system such as Food Enzymes, Silver Shield and N-acetyl cysteine. (That’s both EXPENSIVE & ANNOYING…not worth it!) I CANNOT afford to be down as my calling requires me to be organized, motivated, healthy, alert and wise so that I can manage my practice and lead and encourage a multitude of sick people. Do you have hormone imbalances, thyroid symptoms, menstrual problems, sleep issues, can’t lose weight, feel cold all the time, hair falling out, skin problems, lack of motivation, DEPRESSION, anxiety or psychological problems?? I strongly encourage you to go gluten-free, but better yet, grain free, at least for now. It’s likely 1 piece of the puzzle. It won’t fix everything, but is a critical step of obedience for anyone with autoimmune symptoms of any sort, especially thyroid symptoms. There will always remain some level of mystery with God!! HE is God. WE are not. (THANK GOD!!) He has 3 parts: God the Father, Jesus our friend. And the Holy Spirit. Let the HOLY SPIRIT be the Holy Spirit. That’s not our job The Holy Spirit guides, counsels, comforts, strengthens, reveals, convicts, blesses, transforms, knows, revives, warns, protects, rewards, sanctifies, enriches, speaks, brings JOY…. NEED I SAY MORE??! It’s in the scriptures In those “grey areas”…the places “unknown”…FAITH & DISCERNMENT ARE ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. We MUST get to know God’s voice. Only God knows what man does not, and HE CAN REVEAL TRUTH to use at any moment when we are walking in step with Him, when we have received a baptism of the Holy Spirit, and we are in tune to HIS VOICE. If we are not hearing clearly from Him, we can humbly ask the Lord to reveal any sin in our lives. Repent for what He reveals. Receive HIS forgiveness & grace (don’t let condemnation try to rob you of God’s grace!!). Ask for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit or a baptism of the Holy Spirit if you have never done that before. And then simply move forward. TRUST GOD to complete His good work in you We are all sinners in need of forgiveness daily. Luke 11:13 NIV If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” This is where the rubber meets the road. This is where our knowledge of scripture, wisdom & faith collide in real life as we learn to navigate those “grey areas”…the uncertainties, the unusual experiences, the supernatural, the things that happen outside the box. The radical healings. The miracles! The true FREEDOM. Much of our “church” today is scared to death of REAL FREEDOM. FREEDOM IN CHRIST…not freedom to do as we please as the world sees it. MUCH of “American church” has quenched the working of the Holy Spirit, with our hyper-literal thinking, our legalistic or false teaching, and our controlling (fear-based) ways of thinking and living. We live in a world that goes to the ends of the earth to “figure everything out”, and it has spilled over into our faith (or lack thereof). This world is so obsessed with science, self-help books, me-first, “what will people think”, more, more, more, GOTTA HAVE A PLAN, and where’s the coffee & someone-looked-at-me-funny-in-church kind of problems…We don’t “need” a lot of faith in America. May we remember Jesus had no letters behind his name, no “scientific” background, spoke in parables, had no place to lay his head, did not wear name-brand or “professional” clothes before He went to speak, and was qualified by God alone…and He conquered MILLIONS, defeated death, LOVED ALL, and spoke to more life issues than anyone or anything else (put together) in ancient and modern times! WORD!!! This is often where churches & friendships divide. Those raised under legalism can tend to be afraid of the movement of the Holy Spirit. Judgemental and overly-literal. They throw people in “spiritual jail” for living out the prompting of the Holy Spirit simply because the movement of the Holy Spirit “looks different” than anything they have seen or experienced. Those not rooted in sound doctrine can get out of order and “hyper-charismatic”. Both are simply another example of humans acting in the flesh. We are all human! We ALL battle our flesh. Salvation issues and fundamental doctrine….we must KNOW IT and be willing to stand for it at all cost. The other stuff…when we don’t understand someone else, when we have different convictions, we disagree with them, or we don’t relate because of different backgrounds/flavors/giftings/style/life experience, whatever…we must communicate in LOVE. We do not need to divide over these issues! And how about exercising FAITH?! If that person is saved, then the Holy Spirit got ahold of them that ONE TIME remember?? And we can TRUST, BY FAITH (pray!) for that person, that they would receive a fresh filling or baptism of the Holy Spirit…and that GOD WILL BE GOD and gently make their way straight Takes A LOT MORE FAITH, obedience, maturity, discipline to sit back, be quiet and TRUST doesn’t it? Don’t we tend to think things would happen a LOT FASTER if we just “told them” what they’re doing wrong instead of waiting on & trusting the Lord (aka: praying for them and BELIEVING GOD CAN). I realize there is a time and place to speak up or share something from the Lord with someone else…but I have been challenged to ask myself…haven’t I gotten ahead of the Lord before? How often have I taken a “feeling” and thought it to be a “Holy Spirit nudge” and responded to my flesh vs the Spirit? WE ALL DO. None is exempt …and isn’t this the same thing we are judging in other people? OUR “mistakes” in trying to be HOLY can cause a lot of damage. I’ve been on both sides of this. If we ARE to speak up, I pray we have the courage to do so, and most importantly, we speak in LOVE, keep our opinions out of it, and seek only to BUILD THAT PERSON UP. Lord, help us all! Let “worshippers” be free to sing & dance. Let “literalists” be literal. Let GOD be GOD. PRAY for one another. GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN CHANGE PEOPLE. We are FREE from the BURDEN of trying to control or change people!!! Hallelujah!!!! 1 Peter 2:9 We are a CHOSEN GENERATION, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PECULIAR PEOPLE!! REMEMBER: the Holy Spirit moves different in different people. We cannot box him into our small capacity of life experience. BE FREE within the confines of scripture not man’s misconceptions. God is omnipotent (all-powerful, all Mighty), omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (everywhere). We must be careful not to put God in a box and assume we know the recipe for how He works & moves in other people’s lives. LOVE people. TRUST GOD to complete the work in his people (not us!) Edify the body of Christ. Build people up! Speak life. Forgive quickly. Judge slowly. Quit trying to control things. GOD IS ABLE, and HE LOVES US ALL. Ecclesiastes 11:5 NIV As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. It’s not about us. It’s about HIM. IN 1 WEEK I’LL BE ON A PLANE TO NASHVILLE FOR THE 1ST TIME SINCE WE MOVED HERE!!!!!!!!!!! It’s been 2 YEARS already!!!
SO. MUCH. HAS. CHANGED. It will be the exact week we left Nashville in tears of grief and joy, Sunday Nov 11, 2012….after saying goodbye to our Conduit church family at our last TN church service. There were so many emotions, but the vision was SO CLEAR that we never looked back. God called. We answered. The vision was clear “Sell everything. Move to California. Live on a boat. Share the Gospel.” And then God confirmed it dozens of times over. We headed west in our Jeep with 2 chihuahuas and the bare essentials. We laid down everything to run with Jesus. We left behind the people, place, “stuff”, career, comforts, security…everything that God had blessed us with. It was the scariest, most amazing, yet most peaceful event of my life to date. So much changed all at once. We were on cloud 9 for the 1st 2 months. It was fun being homeless for a month and figuring out where in California we were going to live. God had a plan, but we didn’t know it but 1 step at a time. Zach’s parole officer made it clear we WOULD BE living in Orange County since that’s where Zach’s immediate relatives lived. That’s the rule, so God used to plant us here. Ultimately God planted us in beautiful Dana Point, right next to the harbor, but not on a boat. Thennnn…. reality set in, and God had VERY DIFFERENT plans for us (well, He knew all along, we just didn’t forsee it…haha). I completely overwhelmed myself trying to get licensed in CA because I “just knew” I was going to rest for maybe a month and then open another practice. 2 months of “vacation” (rest…let’s be honest, there was VERY LITTLE rest) felt like an eternity! Mama HAD to get back to work…. OH CONTRARE!! I ended up never getting re-licensed in CA, and literally went on sebbatical for OVER A YEAR, resting, healing, “facing my crap”…it was painful, humbling, HARD, SO HARD, SO DARK at times….yet …GOD KNEW BEST. I was spent!! Every health problem I’d ever had came back with a vengeance. I went into a dark depression. For the first time in my life, I battled the lies the the Lord had forgotten about me, that we made some mistake, that I had my seaosn of “bliss’ and it was all over forever. The biggest lie I battled was that I had NO PURPOSE, and I truly believed I could not live without purpose. Hopelessness kills. The warfare raged spiritually, emotionally, physically and maritally. I spent my whole life full speed ahead. I NEEDED REST. I NEEDED HEALING that no one could see on the outside. But I could never allow myself to do it. It seemed lazy, irresponsible, ridiculous…it felt like my healing was taking SO LONG…WHY WAS IT TAKING SO LONG??!!!! HOW were we going to pay our bills without me working?! I was always the bread-winner. I DID NOT like to be “down”. I guess God was actually serious that He needed me to rest. It took me almost a year to realize that this season was a GIFT and not a punishment! Well, fast forward, 2 years later, I NEEDED THAT REST to be completely re-built. God had the most amazing plans for me, but I needed to be refined. Apparently, He wanted to make me a TOTALLY NEW CREATION. God stripped me of all those things I found my identity in outside of Him. There were MANY. God delivered both Zach and I from alcoholism, He healed our marriage and united us in a way I would not even allow myself to DREAM OF! Yes, those fires burned off a lot of “you know what”. God showed me how HE could provide when it seemed impossible... (I mean hello, He moved us to ORANGE COUNTY…one of THE MOST EXPENSIVE, VAIN…and BEAUTIFUL places to live in the U.S.!!) He healed me on a level I didn’t know I needed. It taught me so much, which now spills over into the ministry God has called me to today. The way I “practice” looks completely different than before. He downloaded supernatural wisdom that daily humbles me. He has given me Authority in areas I am humbled to have, gave me territory to boldly proclaim His love & gospel message that doesn’t even make sense!! ALL GLORY to Him alone. When it was time to go back to work full-time in April 2013…BOOOM! It was quick! Doors flew open, anointing was released. Satan’s power was CRUSHED! All that heaviness miraculously lifted. Years of bitterness GONE. The POWER OF GOD was released in our life like never before. Apparently, we were now ready for His next set of plans for us… We have only begun to scratch the surface of what God wants to do with us here….but I can assure you GOD IS ALIVE AND KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. WHY HE CHOSE US, I HAVE NO IDEA. But we are ALL IN for Jesus!! We wouldn’t change ANY of it!! We know we are exactly where we are supposed to be, and we see God’s provision! We know if we are supposed to live on a boat someday that HE WILL PROVIDE a boat, the timing, the location, etc. Until then, we are content. I have never experienced such PEACE, joy and freedom before in my life!! I have never found my husband more attractive as I do now. I now respect and trust Him and feel “ONE” with Him like never before. We are both in our proper places, in Godly order in our marriage. I feel so grounded in Christ simply because we took a chance. I see His power on a daily basis. We experience so much grace knowing we are not perfect and that God always gets us back on track as we navigate these waters of ministry and life. We GAVE HIM the chance to show off and do miracles and HE HAS BLOWN OUR MINDS!!…All He wants is a willing heart and He will use us in WAYS WE CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE! I encourage anyone whose read this far…let go. say yes. Trust. You will never regret it. THIS is where the peace that surpasses all understanding comes from. This is what everyone wants, but often isn’t brave enough to simply surrender to the process. IT. IS. WORTH. IT. and will always be. KINESIOLOGY is a branch of science which was developed in the U.S. by various kinds of Doctors and Natural Practitioners. It is an amazingly accurate and efficient way of analyzing the body holistically so that it can return to excellent health, strength and function the way God created it to. It stands apart from any other type of health technology, which is why I've taken the time to explain what Muscle Testing is to ME, what it isn't & how it works. The term “kinesiology” I am referring to in this blog is a TECHNIQUE and includes manual muscle testing. It is not to be confused with another definition of “kinesiology”- the branch of physiology that studies the mechanics and anatomy in relation to human movement (not a technique but a field of study).
The human body's 12 systems are ALWAYS communicating with us through symptoms, reflexes, reactions, and other bodily responses. Praise God! He created it to do that. In fact, we have bundles of nerve endings all over our skin's surface called "reflex points" that we can use to test each organ. I think of them as "buttons" for each organ. The central nervous system (our brain and spinal cord) is our body's master control system. It extends down the spine and branches off the spine into a HUGE network of nerves that extend all the way to our skin's surface, which is how we FEEL and interact with our external environment. Nerves control the function of the more than 600 muscles in our body. The human brain has conscious and subconscious, voluntary and involuntary functions. Quite simply, if there is no interference in the nerves that flow to the (deltoid) muscle (arm/shoulder), we can hold our arm up against resistance without it failing. That's how you begin a muscle test...with a strong, intact, voluntary muscle contraction that is engaged when I place equal pressure against your arm. (You can use other muscles; it doesn't HAVE to be the arm.) It's simple. I have many checks and balances to ensure you aren't "faking it" or pushing too hard/soft. This part of the test is a VOLUNTARY muscle contraction. I then use the strong muscle as my "tester", and assess the reflex points (for every organ in the body). If I touch a reflex point of an organ (ie: liver) that isn't functioning properly, the arm has a quick, involuntary response (goes weak; falls), which is a neurological response, and I then know that something is going on with that organ. I follow through with a systematic approach to analyze the whole body, and am then able to narrow down where the problems are coming from. I then use homeopathic test kits to see if there's any "bad stuff" in the body that needs to come out (fungus, parasites, bacteria, virus, chemicals, heavy metals, or food allergies). Using the same basic muscle testing approach, the body (the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth that discerns, directs & gives us wisdom), tells us what to work on FIRST, what products/supplements/cleanses/etc will and won't work on you, what foods you are allergic to, and exactly what dosage you need of each product. THAT is how I customize a plan for each person. It takes a lot of practice and discernment to use this technique properly and effectively. It is an art, a science & a gift, much like Chiropractic is. God has shown me what to use & what to disregard. There's good and bad in all disciplines (dentists, chiropractors, nutritionists, pharmacists, medical doctors, plumbers, etc). Unfortunately, the New Age movement has perverted a lot of great things in the natural medicine world, making Christians hyper-sensitive to some things perceived as "demonic". You have to KNOW your practitioner and the context of what they are practicing & what THEY Believe. I am VERY CAREFUL about who helps me or leads me in ANYTHING, so I appreciate when someone is trying to be discerning. LIFE requires FAITH, and it is only faith in Jesus Christ that will lead you to the whole TRUTH, and the right person for YOU. Pray. God will direct you. Just because a lot of new age practitioners use muscle testing does not mean we throw out the baby with the bath water! I understand the concerns of fellow Believers, and I am ALL TOO FAMILIAR with much of the "New Age bologna" that exists in this field. After all, this is the mission field I've been called to. I face attacks from "the world" for talking about Jesus too much... and then I face (at times, extremely cruel) persecution from brothers & sisters in Christ who have read or heard something bad & have slandered me beyond anything "Christian" in word or deed. I have to swim upstream daily against LOTS of accusations, false teaching and misinformation out there.... this isn't my first day on the job. Twice I have surrendered my practice, my home & everything I knew & had when the Lord asked me to (Read our story here). I have nothing to gain by defending muscle testing. I pay myself a very minimal salary, I consider everything I do to be ministry of some capacity & my 1st CORE VALUE is NO SELFISH AMBITION. I mention that simply to give you my background of obedience & honor to the Lord much like Paul did in 1 Thessalonians. I have sought the Lord deeply about this, and despite the seasons when throwing in the towel would have been easier, the Lord would not let me throw this gift away. In the U.S. (and most places), we are indoctrinated with Western Medicine (allopathic) philosophy, which does not CARE for the body or look at the big picture, the CAUSE of the symptoms. Instead we chase diagnoses and "manage symptoms", none of which are HEALTH CARE. But the LIE that we've been fed is in the name...we call it "Health Care" and "Health Insurance". Prescription drugs and surgery are at times necessary, but NOT NEARLY as often as they are used. And by no means, do those "ensure" or promote "health", rather they manage symptoms and keep you caught in the vicious cycle of infirmity and hopelessness. We cannot get better until we learn to LISTEN to what our bodies are trying to tell us and invite the Lord into the process. FOR ME, muscle testing is 1 of several tools in my toolbox that I use to interpret what the body (God speaking through symptoms that HE created our body to have!) is trying to tell us. We HAVE to have an accurate way to assess the body in it's entirety, without causing further damage, to get to the ROOT of what's causing the unpleasant symptoms (diagnoses, dis-eases & diseases). We don't JUST HAVE a thyroid problem, and we cannot just blame genetics. If everything were as genetic as the medical world claims, then how do you explain the hundreds of people I've seen healed from thyroid problems?! Something caused it...and THAT MEANS THERE IS HOPE!!! Once we know the CAUSE, we can fix it (God-willing). SO MUCH of what people suffer in their health is totally unnecessary if only we knew THE TRUTH. I have sat, prayed & fasted with the Lord extensively, fully willing to lay down "muscle testing" if it were not something The Lord approved of. I KNOW that I have to answer to HIM before I answer to any human being, and I am now certain this is a gift He has given me, combined with prayer and other modalities, to lead people to freedom physically, spiritually, and emotionally. There is fruit AND the name of Jesus is being glorified above all else. That's the bottom line. Jesus will always be the main thing, and the intent and belief of the practitioner is everything. If we truly BELIEVE that "Greater is He who is in us", then we can trust the Lord to give us wisdom, discernment & protection. As I've grown in my faith, I've become more bold & committed to praying with each patient. My "success" in practice, in seeing more radical changes in people's health/lives (spiritual, emotional & physical) came as a direct result of surrendering ALL of me for ALL of HIM. Prayer is #1. Putting the Lord FIRST and maintaining a direct connection with Him keeps our priorities straight and our answers clear, revealing things that NO TEST OR DOCTOR could. Again, muscle testing is just a tool. When I am testing a patient, I am communicating with GOD, the Creator of the body, not "the body". I don't believe muscle testing to be nearly as accurate if it's not combined with prayer to the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, the ONLY ONE who knows everything about our body & our lives. ONLY HE has the power to heal. It is JESUS, working THROUGH ME, that heals people... and I Believe muscle testing to be a gift, a non-invasive, accurate way of assessing the body that does no further damage. After all, as Doctors, the oath WE ALL TAKE, is "first, do no harm". No "test" is perfect. :) I overlooked a lot in my early years of practice when I used muscle testing and head knowledge without prayer. But in God's grace, He has worked in me to refine what I've learned and use it to HIS GLORY. If He can redeem a vile sinner like me and you, surely He can redeem other things like muscle testing, too. He can also heal those bound by fear or a religious spirit who quench the moving of His Spirit. We cannot box God into what is comfortable & logical. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. -James 1:17 The body is one big integrated package of systems, so literally, ANYTHING can cause ANYTHING. There is no ONE cause for high blood pressure, autism, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, acne, hypothyroid, etc. Western medicine has misinformed us to believe there is a simple answer for every symptom or diagnosis that exists. This could not be further from the truth. The process of “diagnosing” in and of itself is misleading and still gives a patient no answer for what is causing the problem OR what can be done about it. My approach to getting better is essentially the same for everything: PRAY, start with a holistic assessment of the entire body, get to the root, and then customize a lifestyle, nutrition & treatment plan accordingly, which will look different for every person. I muscle test to find any weaknesses in the body, see what “bad stuff” needs to come out, see what “good stuff” and nutrition (food, herbs, supplements) needs to go in, determine the exact product and dosage that will work for YOU, and advise of any necessary lifestyle changes, pointing people to Jesus for further wisdom, strength, discipline & the power to overcome. I firmly believe in Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit as our Healer. I believe prayer, fasting and the laying on of hands to be the most powerful and effective tools to fight spiritual warfare and seek healing. I am very careful not to entertain anything that is a New Age practice. A practitioner’s INTENT/BELIEF is everything. I believe in analyzing & addressing the body non-invasively, thoroughly and holistically FIRST, always inviting the Lord into the journey. I am not a licensed counselor and do not offer counseling services. I do openly pray and talk about the Word of God. The body is too complex for ANY human to figure out completely because it was created by an enormously complex, amazingly creative God who chooses to leave some aspects of life to faith and mystery. Muscle testing is a gift and is an extremely effective tool for testing the body thoroughly, though there is no system in this human world that is perfect. There is only one fool-proof, absolute and perfect system, and it does not exist this side of heaven. I do the best I can with the gifts, wisdom, and unique “system” the Lord has given me. My practice will not look like any other Doctor's practice because JESUS is my business coach, my mentor & my CEO. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Taking Pharmaceutical drugs & blindly getting invasive testing or procedures done that use anesthesia, surgery, radiation & chemicals (first, do no harm??) should be of FAR greater concern. We, the Church, need to wake up. We need to stop scouring the internet & researching everything to death & start devouring God's Word. Are we seeking first the Kingdom in ALL things? Are we being overtaken by fear or a religious Spirit? Are we spiritually "asleep"? The word Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical comes from the Greek word PHARMAKEIA which Biblically means: the use or administering of drugs; poisoning; sorcery, witchcraft or magical arts often found in connection with idolatry & fostered by it; the deceptions & seductions of idolatry. Galatians 5: 19-21 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[a]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[b] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
