Essential Oils are Not Created Equal

Essential oils are all the craze! Praise God healthy and holy things like this are becoming "trendy"!! Dr. Mom has more tools in her toolbox... less people are treating with chemical antibiotics... more people are reaching for holistic remedies for stress, illness, pain and dis-ease! I LOVE IT!!! Essential Oils are SO UNIVERSAL and safe that I use them with MOST people I have the honor of working with! 

However, there are a few things to know. "Therapeutic grade" is a common term thrown around which doesn't hold any merit, similar to the term "evidence-based medicine" used to push Pharmaceutical drugs and bash natural medicine. Creative marketing is exactly that...it's a creative way to make things "sound good" but really don't mean anything. You can "create" research to match your claims....it is very sad. Money talks and it is hard to find true integrity with products, food, doctors, businesses, etc anymore. 

BUYER BEWARE. You MUST know your manufacturer and your product in order to get the results you hope for and expect. Let me tell you a story...

A while back I had an itchy spot on my left foot, between my toes. I was pretty certain it was "athlete's foot" (yeast...Gross...I know). Well I use  Nature's Sunshine Products and had PLENTY of tea tree oil on hand. I stock like 100 products in my tiny little herb store! Well, something to know about me is...I am frugal ;) SO, I decided since it was just "my foot" I would use this opportunity to use up a leftover bottle of NOW brands ORGANIC Tea Tree Oil I had on hand for a few years. Nothing was happening. ZERO results. After about a week, I got a little concerned thinking this was something more serious... but one thing I KNOW to do is PRAY FIRST. The Holy Spirit told me to try my NSP brand of tea tree oil, better than organic and 100% PURE... as pure and potent as you can get. The rash and itchy-ness immediately started to resolve itself!! I let my "thriftiness" override what I already knew.... and wasted a week suffering with that silly, itchy rash!  GET MY POINT?? 

NO, this is not a sales pitch, rather an example of WHY I use the products I do. I have toured, in detail, the manufacturing facility. I have personally met and picked the brains of the research and development scientists, quality control analysists, etc. I have been to many seminars and asked MANY questions...and PRAYED a LOT. I have used these products for almost 10 years for good reason...they stand behind them, they meet all requirements, they work with utmost integrity, they are affordable, they are accessible through me OR online, at wholesale OR retail, and THEY WORK!

Essential oils, herbs and supplements are in NO WAY created equal. DoTerra and Young Living are also quality products that yield results, and I am sure there are a FEW others. BUT I WOULD NOT recommend purchasing essential oils from just any health food store. A label is not created to solely inform you, it is created to SELL YOU. Find someone you truly trust to purchase from who has the results & integrity (evidence!) to back up their claims. Nature's Sunshine products are pure enough to ingest, but please do not do that unless you truly know what you are doing. Topical administration through the spine is actually the most direct access into the bloodstream and cells ;)
